Sara & Brian's wedding, Fernie Castle - part five
Before the speeches, I stole the bride away for 2 minutes for some lovely bridals.

Sara & Brian's wedding, Fernie Castle - part four
After the treehouse, we wandered down beside the castle loch, which is very green with algae these days.
Sara had a particularly pretty flower-girl.
The cake was ready to be cut inside.
By this time, the rain was back on again.

Sara & Brian's wedding, Fernie Castle - part three
Sara's girls were dressed in a lovely shade of blue. Then it was down to the Treehouse for a quiet couples session, where the rain threatened to appear again....

Sara & Brian's wedding, Fernie Castle - part two
It was all smiles and laughter as they eventually got married! After signing the register inside, the bride and groom came back downstairs to greet their guests.
And would you believe, just minutes later, we had blue skies and fluffy white clouds...

I had competition on the day!

Sara & Brian's wedding, Fernie Castle - part one
Sara and Brian planned everything well for their Fernie Castle wedding and the only thing that couldn't be planned, like any wedding, was the weather....
Before Sara arrived, I got some great images of Brian and his family. So what was wrong with the weather..... well the couple had planned an outdoor ceremony, in the castle gardens. In August, you would think that would be fine.....
Well this image was taken at the start time of the ceremony, just as the drizzle finally stopped and the chairs were wiped down, so the ceremony could start. You can see in the background, the bridal car containing the bride and her father, who arrived on time but had to wait until it was decided if the ceremony was going to be inside, or outside!! The decision was literally taken just 10 minutes before the ceremony was due to start!

The piper awaited the (short) arrival of the bride!
We finally decided to let her out of the car, and get married!
I think she was a bit nervous....

Natalie & Daryl's wedding - Mansfield Traquair - part eight
And then it was onto the first dance. By this time, the venue had been lit by amazing pink uplighters which transformed Mansfield into something different.
All family members had a "rawking" time on the dancefloor!
All too soon, it was my scheduled time to leave this wonderful day...... but nah, I sneaked the newlyweds outside for some fresh air and some final shots.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day with Nat and Daryl, they truely are a wonderful couple and it was a pleasure to photograph their special day. I can't wait to make this wedding a sample album for the studio!

Natalie & Daryl's wedding - Mansfield Traquair - part seven
Lovely speeches.
I always like a bride that stands up and speaks at her own wedding, I did it myself. And how's this for a place to cut the cake? Amazing.

Natalie & Daryl's wedding - Mansfield Traquair - part six
Mansfield truely is a stunning venue to shoot in, and I was honoured to give the couple images like this. The newlyweds adorable little boy Ethan. Then it was onto the heartfelt and funny speeches.
I got the impression that Daryl is not a Rangers fan!

Natalie & Daryl's wedding - Mansfield Traquair - part five
Mansfield is a venue that just blows your mind when you walk in. After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed some P&Q time during their couples session on Arthurs Seat. I love the post processing I have done on these two images.
The views of the city from the top of Arthurs Seat are amazing, though it was a bit too windy for Nat!
All too soon it was back to Mansfield to enjoy time with their families and photograph their requested formals and a quick session around Mansfield itself.

Jack's first day at school!
We interrupt the wedding images for a quick peek at my "wee boy" being not so wee anymore; he's now a "big Primary One, Mummy.....!"
though I don't think he was too keen on the idea to begin with.....
he soon cheered up!
