Yervant in Venice- part one

Last October, I participated in a photography course which I had wanted to do for such a long long time.

I have admired the work of Yervant for many years now; his fluid fashion style and passion for his job makes him one of the worlds best.

It was a dream to finally get on one of his week long courses, and the bonus was that it was in Venice, Italy!

Of course the family came along too, Jack loved pizza, ice cream and the gondolas!

Jack in Boston - 2008

I just came across these tonight, thought they were cute.

We were in Boston last summer; one day Jack and I enjoyed a lovely summers day at the Common, and the Tadpole Playground. Jack got very wet...... several times!!

Eithne's "Bloodline" session

I was down in the North West recently, watching my good friend Zoe win award after award at the BIPP North West ceremony.

On the way home, I did a little session on a little girl I have known for a while, but never yet met.

Eithne's mum is my book-keeper and she has done some website design for me in the past.

Eithne is just the cutest little girl ever, with such amazing blue eyes! And she is a bit of a technofreak too, she loves her daddy's iphone!

Jacob's "Bloodline" session

It is always a pleasure to welcome back previous wedding clients, for "Bloodline" family portraits, and this session was no exception.
Hwte and Richard were married nearly 5 years ago, and I remember their wedding well...... I was 8 months pregnant, and the wedding reception was at the stunning Forrester Park Golf Resort. It was thanks to this wedding, that I set up the wonderful relationship I have with Robert Forrester, and I am thankful to Hwte and Richard for choosing me for their wedding day photography.

The couple were visiting family in South West Fife, and booked me to shoot a "Bloodline" session of the newest addition to the family, young Jacob. They asked if they could return to Forrester Park, and I jumped at the chance, as no matter the weather, we have endless possibilities for great images there.

Fortunately the weather played ball, and we managed indoor and outdoor portraits, though by the end of it all, Jacob had had enough!

Heidi's "Bump" session

A couple of months ago, I was honoured to photograph the beautiful bump, belonging to the beautiful Heidi, from Aberdeen. Some shots were done in the old studio, and then we went down to the sailing club in the Bay, for some stunning environmental portraiture.

I am happy to announce that, the bump produced a beautiful bouncing baby girl called Reyna; and I am looking forward to photographing her and her mum at some point in the near future, in the new studio.

Blog competition winner!

A while back, I ran a "karma" competition; giving my services to someone who thoroughly deserved it.

The response was good and I chose two for the final cut.

Poor Gill in Luxembourg is getting married in Edinburgh this coming August; her stories were full of many sad things that had happened this year, her sister being diagnosed with cancer being the one that brought a lump to the throat.
But the winner was Carol, who is getting married this winter. After being together for 11 years, and having lovely 5 year old Damien, their wedding is going to be a small but special affair.

This is what Carol had to say after she heard she had won the prize of ME for her wedding day photography!

"We are delighted when we found out that we had won the wonderful prize. After many years together and our son Damien we had no plans to get married it really had been a mad moment and have shocked our family and friends. Our day is at New Lanark, is on a tight budget and the photographs were one of those things we might have had to cut back on. not now we can't wait for the day it'll be a wonderful day knowing that we will have lovely pictures of our big day, family, friends and of the venue of the mill building; hope it's dry for us!"

I hope it's dry too; though I'm not holding out for it, being a December wedding!

Louise & Shaun - part seven

The speeches were funny! After the meal, would you believe that the weather had taken a turn for the better, it was a beautiful Spring evening. And as the sun set, the newlyweds agreed with me that it would be criminal to not take the opportunity of some more couples shots in the gardens.
And then it was onto the first dance.

Louise & Shaun - part five

Due to the weather, at this point in the day, we couldn't really do much except use the bridal suite for the couples session. Fortunately the light in there was fabulous!
There's always a videographer getting in the way!! Fortunately I have worked with Colin at ColMar Video in Kirkcaldy often enough, that I just shove him out of the way!

Louise & Shaun - part four

The bride and groom left the church in Dunfermline quick smart in order to get along the dual carriageway to Balgeddie House in Glenrothes where they virtually ran into as the rain was STILL bucketing it down! After a quick mingle and the group formals, I took the newlyweds around the house for some fabulous shots together.
