Scottish Wedding Directory's "Top to Toe" Event, George Hotel, Edinburgh

If you are a bride past or present, you must have read at least ONE issue of the Scottish Wedding Directory.  It truly is a bible for Scottish Brides.

I have been really lucky to have several weddings featured in the SWD's sister magazine "Real Life Weddings", including a front cover. So it was an honour to be official photographer at their "Top to Toe" Event they held at the luxury city centre George Hotel in Edinburgh.

The opulent Kings Hall was the main venue for a fantastic array of wedding vendors, plus a Style Theatre for the lectures.

Free bubbly greeted the girls as they arrived.

I was ably assisted on the day by a girl called Anita. Anita was a finalist last year on my "Win your Wedding Photography" competition and though she didn't win the final prize, she did choose to book me for her wedding which is NEXT WEEK! Over the past year, we have become very good friends and it was lovely of her to come and help me at this event. Of course she got to do lots of lovely things like hold lights, and carry bags.... oh and try hats by Jennifer's Hat Box!

Floral Ambitions had some amazing displays of floristy magistry.

The Sheila Fleet stand interested Anita, as her engagement ring and wedding ring (and lots of other jewellery!) is from there!

L'Escargot Deli provided THE most yummiest french macaroons for everyone to taste, and yes they do taste as yummy as they look!

Lamesley Bridal stock vintage bridal accessories and dresses.

Allium had these funky cufflinks.

Supernova Events had this crystal candelabra to DIE for, Anita and I were drooling over it - I also loved the way the light came in through the window on it.

I also loved theirTiffany inspired stationery.

One of the most popular women on the day was Rahiet Ashfaq and her amazing henna. This woman should get into cake decorating, and it was no surprise to hear that is her next venture!

Throughout the day, there were lectures on various topics on all things weddings in the Style Theatre.  Here Lorraine, a personal shopper talks about colours.

There was also lovely goodies from Rouge, Arbonne, Berkertex Bride & Debenhams. I adored this vintage style dress by Ivory Whites.

I've found a new profession for John at Burn it Bootcamp - from these photos, it looks as though he could easily be a member of a boy band!

Wedding and Baby have adorable accessories, which appear on the new "Bridal Boudoir" programme on Wedding TV.

Meanwhile in the background, there was a room full of exceptionally busy women, Beauty Box - giving complimentary hair, nail and make up trials.

And they even braved an on-the-spot make-over in the Style Theatre.

All too soon, it was time to park up though some people insisted on trying on hats again!

Well done Liz and Rachael and all the hard-working team at the Scottish Wedding Directory for this fabulous day.  I am chuffed to have been asked to shoot more of these days for the magazine, so watch this space!
