As a business that takes photographs of children, I always like to do my part for childrens' charity. I was alerted to this charity event by a previous NMP bride, and kept an eye on the calender to see if I was going to be free, and if there was an official photographer going to be there. By a couple of weeks before, my calender was free on the day, so I contacted Nichola to see if she would like professional photographic coverage and she said yes.Nichola's story is definitely one to read. Their first born sons, twins Callan & Alex were born and immediately there were problems. Alex was whisked away to Special Care while sadly less than an hour born, Callan passed away. Alex has since been regularly treated by the 'Sick Kids' Hospital in Edinburgh. No parent should go through such a loss, but 'SANDS' (Stillborn & Neonatal Death Charity) have been a great support to Nichola, her husband Dave and their families.
So it was no surprise to hear that the 'Callan Cup' & Fun Day was to raise much-needed funds for these two amazing charities.
Being football supporters, they organised a 7-a-side football tournament, as well as multiple fun activities for the adults and kids!
From Pampered Chef to physiotherapy, candles to cupcakes, home-baking, bouncy castle, tombola, bottle stall, chip stand, fayre rides, vintage classic cars, face-painting, balloon-modelling, henna tattoos, nail art & polishes, Jamie-at-Home, cakes galore, and even a visit from Sammy the Tammy from DAFC!
The crowds were amazing, it was like Dalgety Bay Fayre all over again! Shame the weather couldn't co-operate and attempt to give us as many seasons in one day as possible....
