Canada/California trip part 4 - The McLeods in California

Right, you have to be totally bored in order to watch this one as there are several hundred images in this slideshow! It's 5 minutes long, it's about 180 images straight out of camera and it's got rocking music played by my very own husband on it! It will take a couple of minutes to load up after you hit play!!

We spent the second week of our trip in the California area, firstly staying in the San Diego area at a gorgeous resort on an island, with beautiful beaches and lakes and stuff............. and no sun!!
Jack enjoyed the San Diego Zoo and Sea World, Shamu being a big favourite of his!

We then moved to Anaheim in Los Angeles, watching the Anaheim Ducks for the first time, which was a really good game.

We did a night tour of LA; despite the fact we had the craziest driver going, we saw so many sights of LA; Universal Studios, the "flat" where Julia Roberts stayed in Pretty Woman (and the Reg Bev Wils!!), Rodeo drive (baby!), the walk of Fame, the Chinese Theatre, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica; it was a crazy but great night! As it was dark, we didn't get to see the "Hollywood" sign that night; more on that later!

We obviously went to Disneyland, saw Mickey and Minnie and all their friends, and Daddy rode on all the scary rides! The shows were amazing but what an exhausting day; we got on the bus to the park at 8.30am, we got the last bus home at 12.20am the next day!!

The morning we were due to fly back to Vancouver out of LAX, we decided that if we got overtown in the traffic okay, we would go and see the "Hollywood" sign, something I have always wanted to see. So we typed into the GPS a street we were on, when on the tour bus, where if there had been light, we would have seen the sign from a great angle...... Cut a long story short, we ended up on the residential road that actually leads right up to the sign itself, we were practically touching it!! Unfortunately the road itself is closed right at the end so you can no longer go up the path and touch the sign, but we were not that far off it!!

As we flew out of LAX, we flew over the Malibu fires, which was a totally crazy, eerie but in a strange way, awesome site. But our thoughts did go out to those involved in the Southern Californian fires, something we just about got stuck in.................
